House and Farm calls.
We've all experienced the stress and struggle of trying to bring an animal into the vet clinic. Whether it's wrestling the cat into a carrier or trying to get that colt onto a trailer it becomes a very stressful event for the animals and people involved. For most routine procedures and annual wellness exams animals don't need to be at a clinic or hospital. Instead Sea to Sky Holistic Vet comes to you. It's much better to evaluate animals when they are not stressed and are in their own environment. Dr. Aja blends conventional Western medicine examination, diagnostics and treatments with Traditional Chinese Veterinary medicine to create a comprehensive wellness and treatment plan tailored to your animal.
Dr. Aja will see any and all animals. Although her experience is mostly with the common species like cats, dogs, horses, sheep, goats, cattle, llamas and alpacas she is happy to do research, consult with experts and try to help with other species such as birds, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, fish, pigs and anything else you have.
Dr. Aja (pronounced like Asia) Senestraro grew up in Western Washington and is very happy to be able to practice in such a beautiful place. She attended Scripps College in California double majoring in Biology and Sociocultural Anthropology. She graduated from Washington State University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent time in China learning acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.
She believes strongly in the importance of preventing disease by recognizing and treating early signs. The vet can be an integral part of maintaining health and well-being in an animal not just in treating a sick animal. Her professional interests include behavior, dermatology and herd health. She is also committed to serving the Human-Animal Bond by providing end-of-life care with a focus on pain management. Dr. Aja is a member of numerous veterinary organizations including Puget Sound Veterinary Medical Association, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.
Her hobbies outside of veterinary medicine include hiking and travel. Community involvement is very important to her and she is a supporter of 4-H and FFA. Whenever possible she tries to use goods and services from other local businesses in her practice.
